About the Event

Generous supporters built a freedge (community refrigerator) shelter to receive food donations.  Saturday, April 3rd at 12 noon, OKC Black Eats and friends will install and paint our custom shelter.

What Is A Freedge?

  • Freedge is a sharing mechanism aiming to reduce food insecurity and food waste, building a stronger community. We promote equal access to healthy food through the installation of community fridges that are used to share food and ideas at the neighborhood level.
  • Freedge is a free sharing space used not only for food, but also stories, art and ideas!

Wanna help a friend in need? Your garden is full of fruits and veggies and you wanna share some? Leaving for the weekend with a full fridge? Donate to the OKC Black Eats freedge.

The freedge will be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for ANYONE in need.

Thank you to our gracious partners, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, for your support.
